Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with deep backstory, a wide array of characters, and a gripping narrative featuring divine entities, demons, and sinister influences increasing in power within Dol-Makjar.
Heads-up: Key plot points for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 lie ahead.
The Soldiers Table Unveiled
Episode 3 ended with a major cliffhanger and revealed the first table of adventurers who will branch out from the main group to embark on their own adventure, distinct from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table features Teor (played by the voice actor), the agile character (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), Wicander (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
With 13 cast members, it was obvious from the beginning that keeping everyone at one table would be unworkable.
That’s why, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Overture, connecting the characters’ stories before dividing into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Schemers, and Questers.
What Defines the Combat Party
According to the DM, the Soldiers table is for participants who prefer a typically action-packed fight-heavy gameplay experience where diplomatic options are few and far between.
At first glance, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might seem unsuited, but the actions of the third episode make it clear why these specific adventurers are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
For one thing, the team understands precisely where to head next after a violent initial meeting with the enemy group.
A former ally of Thjazi—whose death started the story’s plot—manipulated the enemy for his selfish purposes, breaking into the hidden lair, assaulting Thimble, and taking all the enchanted items to sell off.
Casimir then cleared his liabilities and ran away to a secure base in the remote area, beyond the city, with Cyd pursuing him.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each member has a specific drive to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as the close ally and closest confidant, seeks revenge.
- The adventurer has experience in Timmony and warns that it is a nasty place.
- The strong character and The cleric, having disobeyed his house’s orders to eliminate the fighter and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
- Yet, their status as prominent individuals in the powerful family could assist the group reach places they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, Teor vowed a eternal obligation to The cleric for his deliverance and will now follow him everywhere.
Fugitives
In addition, all of them are wanted by the authorities that control the city for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- Thimble and The character are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and Wicander defied House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- Teor is wanted dead by the clan.
This means them little choice but to travel to the remote area in pursuit of the traitor.
Future Episodes
According to the recent installment’s post-show segment, we learn that the combat party will be absent in the upcoming installment, leaving the rest of the players to assemble the Seekers and Strategists groups.
Viewers can expect discovering which characters will be in which group in the season’s last Overture episode, released on the upcoming Thursday.
