Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Bahrain, as the country executed strikes throughout the Middle East in response for a "massive" and ongoing attack targeting the nation by the US and Israel.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an area in the area of the command center of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any destruction is unclear and the US has yet to issue a statement.

Regional Interceptions

In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - said they have intercepted missiles in their air space.

In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had intercepted a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the Middle East.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the attack on Iran initiated by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.

That preceding assault - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck sites linked to the the regime, with President Trump encouraging the people of Iran to revolt against the regime.

Regional Fallout

In Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israel Defense Forces stated it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The defence ministry of the UAE announced that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses dealt with the missiles with high efficiency and successfully intercepted a series of missiles," the statement continued.

The statement noted wreckage landed in a populated district in the capital, causing some material damage and the death of one civilian.

The US Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
