Brian Eno Urges Public Help to Send Palestinian Solidarity Song to UK Holiday Chart Peak.

A charity drive is aiming to propel a cultural melody to the peak of the festive singles chart. The project hopes to deliver assistance to Gaza's residents while also spotlighting Palestinian cultural expression.

A Possibility for Support and an "Surprise Victory"

Musician and artist Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the release called 'Lullaby' represents a moment to support Palestinians over the Christmas period. He noted the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“It would be fantastic if that happened, yes,” he commented. “I wouldn't be completely disheartened if it doesn’t, Christmas singles are a unique phenomenon.”

Defiant Message of Self-Determination

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the reimagining of a traditional lullaby called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the song's resilient spirit.

“It has a very special place for countless listeners,” Barghouti said. “The message is that I would rather die in dignity than exist without freedom. That’s the main theme of the song; we seek to lead a dignified life that we are entitled to as Palestinians.”

Track's Background and Featured Artists

The track was produced after a major charity concert held in late summer. Originally intended to be performed and recorded live, the rendition was cut from the show due to scheduling overruns.

The diverse array of artists appearing on Lullaby features a range of acclaimed names from the music world. All were part of the September show, which managed to collect a substantial amount for relief efforts.

Production and Release

Lullaby was brought to life by a team of music creators. The track blends a fusion of the original Arabic with new English lyrics.

The group managing the campaign have stated that their aim is to collect the highest amount for a charitable pot. These donations will be channeled to initiatives supporting Palestinians through an established charity.

“We don’t have a fixed goal,” a figure explained. “We will pursue whatever we can get. Obviously, the greater the amount, the better. Every penny goes out to those in need in Gaza.”

The situation in the area was noted for its widespread damage, with a vast majority of buildings described as in ruins or severely impacted.

“In that context, a couple of million is unlikely to make an enormous impact. But I think what does make a difference is first of all making this cause better known and demonstrating that another narrative exists.”

The single 'Lullaby' is set to be released this Friday. Additionally, a complete film of the charity concert will be made accessible to view on a popular streaming site from mid-December.
