It's a challenge for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The top summits have long been mastered.

This is the squad that has won seven Cricket World Cups, plus an additional six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed nearly four years without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, those for the peak baggers, are what's still available for a side that has accomplished all there is.

The fact it required up to Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase over 300, reclaiming their record for the highest in the women's 50-over format, is, in truth, a testament to the pitchers that have represented Australia over the last half-century.

It is hard for their hitters to hold a record if never given the opportunity.

Finally, the result of Australia conceding 330 was leader Alyssa Healy getting a platform to create her newest gem.

Initially recognized as the 19-year-old niece of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after her nation failed to win either of the T20 or ODI World Cups from the prior year and has seen it all through 15 successful years since.

A T20 World Cup win happened three months after her first appearance and seven international trophies have resulted from 10 tries across formats.

The determined wicketkeeper was also there in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final defeat by India briefly halted the successful run.

That loss "pushed us to rethink our standards," Healy stated recently.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the final and was declared player of the series. She ensured her country would not come up short.

Whether this newest brilliant performance topped that previous effort can be debated.

Some will argue the case for final game tension. Others can counter with the test that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What is certain is this century was considerably tougher to predict.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 happened while she topped the run-scoring charts, but this knock came after six matches in India over the past few weeks in which she had failed to pass 30.

"If you've been watching me in practice sessions, it has been a challenging time because I feel like my form was missing completely," said Healy.

"However when you enter the playing area, your fighting spirit take over and you just lock into the match."

Healy's competitiveness has continuously been her major advantage - and an irreplaceable characteristic in replacing famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, fallen to the young fast bowler in each encounter, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's motivation.

A single came off the bowler's initial ball and after that the right-hander was on her way.

"A chance to go out there and face the challenge with her and merely enjoy the moment that way, kind of motivated me," commented Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 pitches - her fastest at a World Cup - and her ton in 84 deliveries while she flogged anything short, scoring 21 fours and three big hits.

By the time she was removed her side needed 66 additional runs at one run per ball - a manageable total now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"Pursuing 330 is unfamiliar ground so I'm happy we have the belief to achieve that now," stated Healy further.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it again but, if we do, we believe we can succeed."

These statements will be the last Australia's opponents at this championship want to hear.

During the last week a belief they will win from any position has grown stronger - this success following victory over Pakistan by 107 runs despite being 76-7 at one point.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a meeting with longtime competitors England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final berth may probably be guaranteed.

During that phase they left the previous year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a game Healy missed because of ruptured tissue in her foot as she led her country for the inaugural occasion at a significant event.

So strong is her resolve, she later said she wanted to have participated with the discomfort.

Yet even as she later admitted those injuries have delayed consideration of ending her career, this tournament is expected to be her concluding event as leader in one-day cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a global event as skipper.

Victory in India would bring her to the top of her last major obstacle.
