Two more people are now in custody related to a robbery at Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be an irritant spray, according to police.
A 24-year-old man, was arrested in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. They both are still being held, the force said.
These detentions follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.
A toddler aged three was among the injured during the incident. Five people were taken to the hospital for medical care and were later released.
Officers detained a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault close to the scene. He has since been released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.
Police were called at approximately 08:10 GMT following reports of several individuals hurt by a noxious substance believed to be an irritant spray.
The assault - an event that authorities stated was a standalone incident and not considered an act of terror - resulted in delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
